What is IELTS?
IELTS stands for International English Language Testing System and is an English language exam that is required to be taken by international candidates considering studying or working in a country where English is the main language of communication. The most popular countries where IELTS is accepted for university admissions are the UK, Australia, New Zealand, the USA, and Canada.
The exam measures the ability of test-takers to communicate in the four basic English language skills – listening, reading, speaking, and writing. The IELTS exam is jointly owned by the British Council and Cambridge English Language Assessment.

What is the aim of this course?
This course has been designed to help you, the teacher, prepare your students for the IELTS exam. We will cover the 4 parts of the exam – Reading, Writing, Listening, and Speaking – to give you an in-depth understanding of what is required of the test-takers. You will learn how the test is structured and how to best prepare your students for the exam. We’ve included tips and tricks, resources and examples for you to download and work through.
Once you have completed this course, you will be awarded a certificate that you can use to prove to your students that you are qualified to help them prepare for the IELTS exam. You can use this certification in your job applications and/or get your own private students in the IELTS exam niche.
