Terms and Conditions
Last updated: 18 August 2026
These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your purchase and use of any course, product, or service offered on this website (the "Site"), which is operated by eTEFL Online Teacher Training OÜ ("eTEFL Online", "we", "us", "our"). Full company identification details are set out on our Legal Notice page. By purchasing a course or otherwise using the Site, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not purchase or use our services.
1. Our Courses
We offer online TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) courses, delivered in two formats:
- Self-paced courses — pre-recorded and written course materials that you work through independently, with no fixed schedule.
- Tutor-supported courses — self-paced materials plus assignments that are reviewed and marked by a qualified tutor. Marking and feedback are provided within the turnaround time stated on the relevant course page.
Course content, syllabus, format, and any tutor-support details are as described on the individual course page at the time of purchase. We may update course materials from time to time to keep them current; this does not reduce the substance of what you purchased.
2. Prices and Payment
Prices are as displayed on the course page at the time you place your order. We reserve the right to change prices at any time, but a price change will never affect an order you have already completed.
We are not currently registered for VAT (we qualify for the Estonian small-business exemption under §19¹ of the Value Added Tax Act), so no VAT is added to the displayed price. See our Legal Notice page for details.
Payment is due in full at the time of purchase. We accept payment via:
- Credit/debit card, via Stripe
- PayPal
- PayFast
- Bank transfer
Card, PayPal, and PayFast payments are processed securely by the respective payment provider; we do not store your full card details. Where payment is made by bank transfer, your access is activated once we have confirmed receipt of funds, which may take longer than instant payment methods.
3. Access and Delivery
Our courses are digital content delivered online. Once your payment is confirmed, you will receive login details (or access is enabled on your existing account) and you can begin your course immediately. There is no physical delivery. The access period for a given course is as stated on that course's product page.
4. Your Right to Cancel (Right of Withdrawal)
If you are a consumer purchasing from within the EU, you normally have a 14-day right to withdraw from an online purchase without giving a reason. Because our courses are digital content, this right works as follows:
- If you have not logged in or accessed any part of the course, you may cancel within 14 days of your purchase for a full refund. Contact us at support@eteflonline.com to request this.
- If you have logged in and accessed any part of the course, your right of withdrawal ends at that point. At checkout, you are asked to expressly consent to us beginning performance (giving you immediate access) before the 14-day period ends, and to acknowledge that doing so means you lose your right of withdrawal once you access the material. This reflects Article 16(m) of EU Directive 2011/83/EU and §53(4)(6) of the Estonian Law of Obligations Act.
5. Refunds
Our refund policy follows directly from the right of withdrawal above:
- If you request a refund within 14 days of purchase and you have not logged in or accessed any course content, you will receive a full refund to your original payment method.
- Once you have logged in and accessed any part of a course, no refund is available, including for tutor-supported courses where marking has not yet been used, except where required by law (for example, if the course materials are faulty or not as described).
This policy applies regardless of how much of the course you have completed — access, not completion, is what ends the refund window. If you believe you have a claim outside this policy (for example, a fault on our part), please contact us and we will consider it individually.
6. Cancellation or Changes by Us
If we are unable to provide a course you have purchased (for example, because it is discontinued), we will notify you and offer a full refund or, where reasonably possible, a substitute course of equivalent value.
7. Certificates
Where a course includes a certificate, it is issued once you have met that course's stated completion requirements (for example, passing marked assignments, where applicable). Certificates are not issued for partial completion.
8. Your Account and Acceptable Use
Your course login is personal to you and may not be shared, sold, or transferred. Course materials are provided for your personal study only and remain our intellectual property (or that of our licensors); you may not copy, redistribute, or publish them.
We may suspend or terminate access to a course if these Terms are breached, including account sharing or unauthorised redistribution of materials.
9. Liability
Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes any liability that cannot be limited or excluded under applicable law, including liability arising from our negligence causing personal injury, or from fraud. Subject to that, our total liability to you in connection with a course is limited to the amount you paid for it. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as loss of employment opportunity.
10. Complaints and Dispute Resolution
If something isn't right, please contact us first at support@eteflonline.com so we can try to resolve it directly.
If you are an EU consumer and we are unable to resolve a complaint between us, you may refer the matter to the Estonian Consumer Protection and Technical Regulatory Authority (TTJA), or to the equivalent consumer authority or out-of-court dispute resolution body in your own country of residence.
11. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of Estonia. If you are a consumer, this choice of law does not deprive you of the protection of any mandatory consumer-protection provisions of the country where you habitually reside. Any dispute not resolved informally or through the routes above may be brought before the competent Estonian courts, or, where you are a consumer, before the courts of your own country of residence where applicable law allows.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time, for example to reflect changes in our courses or in the law. The version in force at the time you place an order is the one that applies to that order. We will post the "Last updated" date above whenever this page changes.
