Yes. We will provide you with a 120-hour online TEFL course and internationally accepted certificate upon completion of the course. We also include the Cambridge TKT course and exam in all of our packages (a free bonus worth $225) as well as the Cambridge Teach English Online course.
No. However, having a degree will certainly open more doors for you as many companies require one. There are many other that don’t, but you may have to accept a lower hourly rate. There are other options though such as working freelance or even starting your own online teaching business. We can assist you with whichever option you choose.
Hourly rates vary from company to company and also depend on your qualifications and experience. We’ve seen everything from $5/hour to $30/hour.
Here is a simulation:
Let’s assume you only get $10/hour and only work part-time, say 3 hours per day.
$10 x 3 = $30/day
And let’s assume you work 20 days a month.
$30 x 20 = $600/month, part-time.
If you earned $20/hour, you could earn $1200/month part-time.
If you worked full-time, you could earn up to $3000/month.
Not officially, but as with any profession, the older you are the more difficult it will be to find work. Most of the online schools prefer teachers under the age of 45 which is why we created the Freelance Teacher and Independent Teacher packages which you can find out more about here.
Sorry, not at the moment. We are looking into it though so please join the mailing list, here, for regular updates.
TEFL stands for Teaching English as a Foreign Language and is the international standard for tutoring English online or face to face. TESOL and TEFL are interchangeable terms and are used in different parts of the world. The course is designed for those who have no teaching experience and will prepare you to teach English to students who don’t already know the language.
Have a look at our blog section where we have several posts about what your responsibilities will be and how online classes are taught. Click here www.eteflonline.com/blog to read them.
Both. When you start out with your first online job you will almost certainly be given part-time hours until you gain more experience. You can then request more hours or apply to more online schools to cover the hours you require. It’s quite normal for tutors in this industry to work for 2 or even 3 employers at the same time.
